Problem is that we need good instructions for people very new to Linux, i.e.
who would have no clue about how "build gcc45 by hand", or what "NFS" stands
for, etc. Ideally, the configure script should figure out the compiler
version (already does this) and issue reasonable explicit instructions for how
to upgrade older systems.
