Just a quick note, since I have to run:
With RedHat gcc4.4.0 (aka gcc44, available as a package on red-hat derived
linuxes), with openmpi-1.4.1 compiled with the same compiler, test.parallel
for amber11 gives
436 file comparisons passed
3 file comparisons failed
0 tests experienced errors
with simple round-offs in the file comparisons. So at least one version
of gcc 4.4.x works, at least with openmpi.
Note also: if this is related to mpich2, it might be that mpich2 is exposing
a bug in our codes that has been hidden up to now.
