It has to do with whether second() is considered and instrinsic function
or not. Gfortran 4.4 on Mac, and Intel 11.1 on linux, don't have this
problem. I don't know if the gnu diff is because of the vesion number or
the OS. But at least we now have two cygwin testers...I had thought that
platform had sort of died out.
