Hi everyone:
I was helping Charlie out with a grant application, and collected the
following numbers from the ISI Web of Science (Jan. 2007):
The "Amber" program has been cited in 1641 articles since version 5, which was
released in November, 1997.
[Note that the force field papers, e.g. Cornell et al. have been cited more
than twice as often, about 3680 citations so far. This suggests to me that
a significant number of papers using Amber don't actually cite the program.]
The Pearlman et. al 1995 summary of Amber has been cited 780 times. The
more recent (2005) JCC overview has so far only been cited 45 times.
These numbers might be of use in applications that request some quantitation
of usage of Amber.
