Of course this is OK. I was trying to discourage Mike and Ross mainly
(but
me and others as well) from keeping alternative implementations around,
especially in "final" code.
People are welcome to point out that I don't practice what I preach; the
idea is to use good common sense, and to try to keep the code as
understandable as we can.
