I agree. Klaus was my first TA in grad school (this was in 1970!), and always
had legendary enthusiasm, energy and great scientific insight. As software
developers we can appreciate the contributions of VMD and NAMD to our
community. Beyond this, Klaus had a real vision for both how to exploit
high-performance computation and how to push molecular simulations to address
frontier problems in cellular biology. Those of you who didn't know him well
